Isla Del Leyendas: Part 9

Three down…

Apparently the sixteen other Trainers hadn’t noticed one of his Gastly using Hypnosis on the Chosen of the Wish Maker, and now her powers belonged to him.

Jirachi, Kyogre, Groudon, he wondered who would be next. He half expected it to be the Chosen of Mew or Celebi, or perhaps that of Lugia. He didn’t expect that Rayquaza’s Chosen would go down easily, but the group of Trainers seemed to be looking to him for leadership, perhaps it would be best to take him out next…

No, he had to stick to the plan, take the Trainers one by one, when they least expected it, launching an all out assault too soon would only equal failure, there were too many Trainers with Pokemon who could defeat his, he had to thin their ranks some how…

His Ghosts would see to it that someone got lost from the group soon.

He didn’t care who it was.

He just wanted their powers.

“Why do I have the feeling that we’re going around in circles?” Danielle whispered to Ash, as they followed the others, and were followed in turn by Rex and Juni.

“’Cause I think you’re right.” Ash replied, he was certain he’d seen that same carving about ten minutes ago, and ten minutes before that and ten minutes before that… “Iason.” Ash spoke up.

Iason turned around quickly, then relaxed once he saw everyone who was still with them was still with them, “What’s wrong Ash?”

“I think we’re going around in circles.” Ash replied, “I’ve seen that same carving three times in the last half an hour.”

Iason frowned, and then realised Ash was right. “We must have missed a passageway back there somewhere.” He growled, frustrated.

“It’s difficult to see in this light,” Kayla said, “It’s probably not hard to miss things.”

“Well we can’t make it much lighter;” Rex exploded, “Typhlosion and Magmar are providing as much light as they can, if we keep too many Pokemon out there won’t be any room to move.”

“We’ll just have to make our way back and hope we can find the blasted corridor we missed. I swear this place is one big ma…” Juni trailed off and the others looked at her. “Guys…” She pointed back the way they’d come.

“Oh great, Return of the Ghost Types Part Three.” Rex growled, reaching for his Pokeballs, having spotted yet more Ghost Pokemon, “When I get out of here, if I never see a Ghost Type again, it’ll be too soon.”

Ash laughed, and Pikachu jumped down off of his shoulder, “I like Ghost Pokemon, but I’m really beginning to get fed up this lot.”

“Be careful, no one is to leave someone else’s sight, we’ve been taken off guard before, lets not let it happen again.” Iason called. The Trainers nodded, “Who only has Fighting, Normal, Ground, Rock, Flying, or Steel types?” Only Juni raised her hand, “The rest of you send out a Pokemon that isn’t one of those types.”

“Ready Pikachu?”

“Typhlosion?”

“Gardevoir?”

“Claydol?”

“Noctowl?” Iason gave Raven an odd look, Raven just grinned, “I have a plan.”

“Magmar?”

“Delibird?”

“Charmeleon?”

No one else had time to check as the ghosts attacked.

“Noctowl! Foresight!”

Red light shot from Noctowl’s eyes, revealing the Ghosts, and making them solid enough to hit with physical moves. “Now Peck!” Noctowl struck a Haunter that was too close to the Trainers and the fight began in earnest.

Ash and Pikachu found themselves face to face with a bunch of Gastly, “Pikachu! Thunderbolt!”

The Gastly scattered, leaving only two in front of Ash and Pikachu. They were easily knocked out by Pikachu’s Volt Tackle. Ash looked around, was it him or was this too easy?

“Ash!” Kayla called, Ash wheeled around in time to dodge an incoming Shadow Ball attack. “Gengar!”

“Seen it.” Ash growled, “Pikachu!”

“Pika!” Pikachu ran forward.

“Volt Tackle!” Pikachu’s speed increased, and he glowed yellow, before slamming into Gengar, the Ghost type, still under the effects of Raven’s Noctowl, was bashed backwards, and glared at them as it stood upright. It launched a purple and black beam at Pikachu, who wasn’t quite fast enough to dodge it, and was knocked over. When he got to his feet he staggered around, dazed and…

“Confuse Ray…” Ash growled, rushing forward to grab Pikachu before Gengar could blast it with its Shadow Ball. Ash grunted as the attack hit him instead, and accidentally looked up, and was hit by Gengar’s Hypnosis.

“Ash, no!” Rex shouted, as Ash got to his feet, eyes blank, “Magmar help him out!”

Rex’s Magmar used Flamethrower on the Gengar, who leapt out of the way.

“Pikachu!” Rex called, the Electric mouse looked over at him, still confused, “If you love your Trainer like he loves you, use Thunderbolt!”

Pikachu was confused, why was this man, who wasn’t his Trainer, telling him to Thunderbolt Ash? Pikachu shook off the last of it’s confusion, and looked his Trainer in the eyes. There was nothing, no emotions, no Ash there.

“Pikachu, use Thunderbolt on Ash.”

Pikachu looked at his Trainer, then back at Rex, then up at Ash again, and decided.

“Pikachuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!”

Pikachu felt guilty as Ash cried out, and slumped to his knees, almost dropping the Electric mouse, but when his Trainer opened his eyes, Pikachu knew he’d done the right thing, Ash was back. “Pikachu? You ok?”

“Pikapi.” Pikachu sighed in relief, as Rex took care of the Gengar, causing it to instigate a retreat. Ash looked around, the battle hadn’t been without casualties, there more people missing, Sam, Judy and Faith were gone. Darius was fuming, Iason looked like he’d had a battle with a wall, ‘We’re wearing down…” Ash realised, but what had happened in the last couple of minutes of the fight? Everyone had been there when he’d tried to pick up Pikachu, next thing he knew people were missing and it felt like he’d been hit by Pikachu’s Thunderbolt.

Raven helped him to his feet. “Thanks.”

“Don’t thank me, you should thank Rex, he’s the one who got Pikachu to snap you back to reality.” Ash frowned, “Gengar put you under Hypnosis; you would’ve vanished like the others if Rex hadn’t seen it happen.”

“Thank you.” Ash told Rex gratefully.

“Not a problem.” Rex said with a smile, “You’d do the same for me right?” Ash nodded.

“We started from the Cruise Ship with nineteen, Miko and Neil were the first to vanish, so that was seventeen, then Artemis went, that’s sixteen, with Sam, Judy and Faith that gives us thirteen left, and I don’t doubt those ghosts will be coming back soon. We have to get to a more defendable position.” George snarled to Iason, who nodded angrily. “Can we get back to that hall?”

“We can’t just leave them down here!” Kayla growled.

“We can’t keep going the way things are either.” George retorted, “If we keep going like this, our Pokemon are going to faint before we can save the others.”

“If we go back, not only will it be twice as hard to get back here when we do attempt a rescue, but do you honestly think the Ghosts will let us pass now? Without a fight?” Katherine asked.

“We’ll vote, all those in favour of going back?”

Only George raised his hand.

“All those in favour of going on and trying to save the others.”

Everyone raised their hands.

“Fine, then I’m going back alone.” George snarled.

His twin sisters grabbed his arms, “We’re triplets, we stick together, remember?”

“I refuse to put my Pokemon in anymore danger.”

“You’re scared to go on.” Danielle spoke up, looking over at George with a look in her eyes that Ash couldn’t quite read. “Quite understandable.”

“I’m not scared.”

“Yes you are, you’re scared of what will happen if our Pokemon faint down here, and the ghosts attack us, you’re scared of what will happen to your sisters if we can’t get out, you want to go back to look for a way out where there is none, to a place that is less defensible then here, just for a false sense of security. And what happens when we’re attacked there? Do we move on? Or pretend we’re in the right place?” Danielle had caught the attention of everyone now, and Kayla frowned, it didn’t sound like Danielle was making this up… of course… Mew… “We’ve been brought here for a reason, those statues light up around us for a reason; do you want to let your Legendary down that badly Chosen of Regice?”

“What?” George looked at her, stunned, “How do you know about Regice?”

“Your sisters are the Chosen of Registeel and Regirock I believe, you’ve had run ins with them, protecting them, and had powers bestowed on you because of it, we have all protected legendary Pokemon at some point and had their gifts bestowed upon us because of it.”

Ash gasped, Danielle’s eyes were pink, the same colour pink as Mew!

George scoffed, “What powers do you think we have?”
