Isla Del Leyendas: Part 18

“Pika?”

“Pikachu, wake him up.” Iason told the electric mouse.

Five seconds later, Ash yelped as Pikachu shocked him slightly, enough to wake him up, but not enough to have Ash sat there yelling at him until Ash’s legs wanted to work.

“I’m up!” Ash semi-complained at Pikachu, “I was coming around! You didn’t have to shock me!”

“You weren’t coming around, you were snoring!” Katherine laughed.

“I don’t snore!”

“Hands up who heard Ash snoring.” It was unanimous and Ash growled.

“Pika Pikachu Pikapi Pikachu.” Pikachu said, and it sounded like he was having trouble getting it out through his laughter.

“Pikachu says that you don’t always snore but when you do, you keep him awake.” Raven laughed.

Ash just grumbled to himself as he pulled his backpack on, the others grinning.

“Lets go.” Iason said, leading them down the dead end corridor, the Trainers looked around and then tried to push against the walls. Greg looked around, and sighed exasperatedly.

“Ash, why are you checking the floor?”

“’Cause normally, if I’m going to come across a switch, I’m going to step on it, or trip over it.” Ash answered, smiling as he found a stone that was slightly raised. “Like this one, watch.”

Ash stepped on it and the back wall slid away.

“Sees you can be useful after all.” Greg growled, Ash just ignored him as they dashed down the corridor.

And came to a halt just inside a huge chamber with no exit bar the one they’d come down. The missing Trainers were led on the floor, unconscious, and Danielle ran over, “Kayla? Kayla!” Danielle shook the Trainer, but there was no response.

“Guys!” Katherine shouted, everyone wheeled around.

The way out was blocked by Ghost Pokemon.

“Ahh!” Half of the group wheeled around at Raven’s cry, a man they’d never seen before had the boy by the collar and some form of energy was draining from Raven to the man. He went limp as Iason reached them to try to force the man to let go. The man tossed him aside, and he hit the ground hard.

“Raven!” Katherine gasped, “What did you do to him?”

“You’ll find out soon enough.” The man smirked.

“Who are you?” Darius demanded as Iason backed off quickly.

“My name is Kale, I used your tour guide to lead you here, then it was easy enough to separate you, to drain your gifts, one by one, you haven’t been able to stop me, and now, I think, I can deal with all of you at once.”

“Why do you want our gifts?” Iason demanded as he tried to gather together the others, seven Trainers, forty two Pokemon… how could this creep beat them with just the ghosts he had in the corridor?

“Stealing your gifts has upset the balance and now the Legendary Pokemon have gathered, the battle is about to begin, and as the Legendaries battle the world will go to hell and I will be deemed the hero of the world when I tame them and capture them using your powers, and with their power I can rule the world!” Kale smirked, “I found out how to drain your gifts when I got lost down here years ago, but until about a year ago, I had no idea who the last of the chosen were. Once I knew, I planned and once I was ready I gathered you here, to take your places in my final plan.”

“You know why the fights always take so long?” Rex whispered to Ash. Ash just gave him an odd look, “Monologue.”

“I don’t think they can help it, and at least we get to know what we want to know, and watch out!” Ash pushed Rex to the floor as a Shadow Ball attack nearly hit him. “PIKACHU!” Ash called. His Thunder type shocked the offending ghost.

“Do not think this will be an easy victory, Ketchum.” Kale smirked, as Raven’s Noctowl used Foresight to make the battle easier…

Ash blanched as he and Rex got to their feet… The Ghosts were multiplying…

The Trainer’s released their Pokemon and began to fight, attempting to defend themselves. Iason snarled as this Kale guy managed to get his hands on Katherine, and no one could reach her fast enough. She slumped to the ground, and her Pokemon attempted to attack Kale, the Ghosts never let them reach him.

“Darius! Behind you!” Greg shouted, Draius wheeled around and found himself face to face with Kale, who grabbed one of the teen’s arms and twisted it behind his back. Darius couldn’t break free, he was too strong… He hoped that the others could get away safely as darkness claimed him.

Ash and Rex were back to back, Iason and Danielle were too, they were falling like flies. Ash was so focused on trying to stop the ghosts that the first thing that Ash knew about Kale attacking him from the side, was Rex pushing him out of the way. Ash turned around and gasped.

“MEW!” Danielle called, as Ash backed off quickly and Rex was tossed aside.

“Stupid girl, your little friend can’t help you…” Kale trailed off as a pink light appeared and Mew emerged from it.

“Get all the Chosen Trainers and their Pokemon out of here!” Danielle cried.

Ash felt weird, and then the Chamber vanished from around here.

And the statue plains where they had fallen originally appeared.

“Teleport?” Iason asked Mew, who nodded.

“Ahhh!” Danielle cried out. Ash and Iason turned to her quickly, Kale had hitched a ride by grabbing onto one of them and now he was draining Danielle!

Kale tossed Danielle aside, as the sounds of Pokemon roars caught Iason and Ash’s attention, they looked, the Legendary Pokemon were fighting!

The other Trainers stirred, and Kale growled. “Damn it.” He snarled, “I guess they only remain unconscious after the draining if they stay in the shrine…” Then he smirked, “Doesn’t matter, this world will be mine after I get through with you.”

Ash dodged Kale’s attempts to grab him, and Kale and Iason fell into a fight, that Kale was winning.

“Iason!” Kayla gasped.

“Go and stop the legendaries!” Iason growled, “I’ll deal with Kale, go!”

The others glanced backwards, then they and their Pokemon, ran down to the town, where the Legendary Pokemon were battling. Ash stayed where he was, “Ash! Go!” Ash shook his head. Returning his fainted Pokemon, Pikachu was the only one not knocked out.

“Got you!” Kale snarled, as he twisted Iason’s arm behind his back. Iason groaned as Kale drained him, falling to his knees as Kale let go.

Ash glared at him as he advanced, Pikachu attempted to Thunderbolt him, but it barely fazed Kale, whose Ghosts reappeared, the darkness brought by Zapdos’s storm clouds giving them ideal cover. Pikachu was blasted back into a rock by Gengar’s Nightshade, and it didn’t move from where it had fallen.

Ash jumped back, avoiding Kale’s attempt to grab him, and launched a punch of his own, Kale moved and Ash tried again, he couldn’t let Kale win, he couldn’t!

“Stubborn bloody Trainer!” Kale snarled as Ash caught Kale’s jaw with his third try.

Ash backed away quickly as Kale lashed out with a fist, then attempted to block the much older man’s next try. Kale grabbed his defending arm, and locked it so Ash was bent over and couldn’t move without breaking his arm. “You little rat, I was willing to let you live, like all the others, but no, you had to be extra stubborn didn’t you.” Kale kicked Ash in the chest, Ash cried out in pain as Kale heard something crack ominously.

“Leave him alone!” Someone yelled, Ash looked up as far as he could, Gary Oak, what was he doing here?

“Gary, get away!” Ash shouted, and got another kick for his trouble.

“No way.” Gary snarled.

Kale released Ash’s arm, and the teen fell to his knees. Ash wheeled around in time to see Kale attack Gary. The other fifteen year old never had a chance, and ended up on the floor. “I guess I’ll finish you first!” Kale snarled.

“No!” Ash growled, surprising even himself as he moved fast enough to take Kale’s blow. Ash would have fallen backwards but was grabbed by Kale, who drained Ash’s gifts. Ash barley registered the blow to his face, then darkness claimed him, and Ash’s last thought was that he hoped Iason and Gary and the others would be alright.
