“What was with you this
morning?” Kayla asked her Vaporion as she and Ash chilled out in the Battle
Lounge, watching the Battles going on between Trainers who had no intention of
going back out until the sun had set. Vaporion just opened one eye, stared at
her for about a minute, then closed it’s eye and went back to sleep. “Hey Ash,
how about going back there, say later on, I heard from Brendan that there’s
to be a tour, the cruise organised it
because of the trouble with the ship.”
“Why not?” Ash replied,
half asleep from the heat, Pikachu gave him a look that normally Ash would’ve
caught and changed his mind, but he was too sleepy, and ended up falling asleep
on the sofa he was sat on. Kayla watched him, then got up, leaving her Vaporion
standing guard, and headed to her room to get her pack, there were wild Pokemon
in those ruins and she wanted to be prepared.
By the time she got
back, Ash was awake and drinking cola, “Hey.” He said, not fully with it, “How
long was I asleep?”
“About two hours.”
Kayla said with a smile, “The tour leaves in a couple of hours.” Her Vaporion
growled at her and Kayla sighed at it, “There are wild Pokemon there, and we
might learn more about Ho-oh.”
“I’ll be back, I want
to grab some things from my room.”
“Pokeballs right?” Ash
just laughed and dashed off, Pikachu hot on his tail.
Kayla, Ash, and Brendan Ford, a Pokemon
Trainer who specialised in Electric type Pokemon, like Voltorb and Magneton, were
discussing the likeyhood of rare Pokemon living inside the ruins, when their
tour guide turned up.
It wasn’t the same one
from earlier, apparently Faith had gone home sick, and this man, Grant, had
taken over for her. He led the trainers up the hill that Ash and Kayla had run
up earlier that day, though now the sun had set it was much cooler then when
they’d taken the run.
“This is the Legend Temple.
In ancient times this temple was dedicated to the Legendary Pokemon, all of
them, and the priest who ran this temple had to be Pokemon Trainers who had
proven themselves worthy…” Ash, Brendan and Kayla had wondered over to the
statues again.
“Ash look.” Kayla
gasped, pointing to Ho-oh. The eyes were still glowing.
“The eyes of the
statues used to glow whenever a Trainer that legendary had deemed worthy of
it’s power, was admitted to the Temple,
someone here has obviously had a run in with the Rainbow Bird.”
The other trainers
walked over to examine the statues, each one drawn to a particular one. Brendan
left the two to examine the statue of Raikou, that looked like it was newer
then the one say of Ho-oh or Lugia, only probably about fifty years old. “Are
there still people who worship the Legendary Pokemon?” Brendan asked, as Ash
touched the Lugia statue and it’s eyes lit up, a pale silver colour glowing.
“Why do you ask?”
“Because some of these
statues are newer then others, for example this Raikou is…” Brendan shut up as
the eyes glowed a bright yellow. Kayla looked around, every single statue had
glowing eyes. Then something under their feet gave way, and that was the last
thing she knew for quite a while.
